[00:00:30] And today on this episode, we are going to be discussing stories of shadow people.

[00:00:36] So if any of y'all listened to our episode last week, we went into a primer about what shadow people are,

[00:00:44] and what their general description is, where the term came from, and then we went into different theories

[00:00:52] about what they could be, and everything ranging from benadryl overdoses to actual demons.

[00:01:00] And methamphetamine.

[00:01:00] Yes, a lot of that.

[00:01:02] Today on this episode, we're going to be just talking about actual eyewitness accounts.

[00:01:08] So this first one comes from phantomsandmonster.com from Lon Strickler.

[00:01:14] Hello Lon.

[00:01:15] Back before I got married, which was about seven or eight years ago, my dog and I lived

[00:01:20] by ourselves in a one-bedroom apartment on the second floor of an apartment complex.

[00:01:26] I stayed up late most nights as I was attending college at that time, and had lots of homework

[00:01:32] to do every night.

[00:01:34] I did almost everything on my desktop computer that sat right beside the inside of my bedroom door.

[00:01:40] The apartment was extremely tiny, and when I looked out the door, I was basically facing

[00:01:45] another door, the one that led into my living closet.

[00:01:49] There was just enough walking space between there for me to move around to go to the bathroom.

[00:01:55] Well, this one evening, it was between 2.30 and 3am, and I was sitting in my usual position

[00:02:01] typing up an essay paper.

[00:02:02] For some reason, my dog Jace was not in there with me that night, and he always stayed with me.

[00:02:08] I figured he was just tired due to the late hour, and had went to sleep in the dark living room.

[00:02:13] I suddenly began to feel very uneasy and got a cold chill.

[00:02:17] I'd never felt this way before, and for whatever reason, I glanced up from my typing over to outside

[00:02:22] my bedroom door.

[00:02:24] The bedroom light fell from behind me, and what I saw made me stop and stare in terror.

[00:02:29] On the linen door closet was the figure of a very huge man, totally dark, as if it was just his shadow.

[00:02:36] He was just standing there, completely still.

[00:02:39] What was most unnerving of all was that I had noticed he had no head.

[00:02:43] It was like it had been chopped off or something.

[00:02:47] His body was totally up to the top of his neck, yet I was completely sure he was staring right at me,

[00:02:52] even without a head to be looking at me with.

[00:02:55] I was so terrified, I could not even call out for Jace, and the dog failed to come to me either.

[00:03:01] I stood up slowly and moved backward in my room as if I was trying to get away from it.

[00:03:06] But by this time, it was slowly beginning to fade from my view of the door.

[00:03:10] I was able to find my voice, and but frightened anger came out of me.

[00:03:14] I told her to get out and never come back.

[00:03:16] I kept saying it over and over, and finally Jace came running to my side.

[00:03:21] That was when I finally burst into sobbing hysterics, and wrapped my arms around my dog,

[00:03:26] and cuddled him for the rest of the night.

[00:03:28] I have no explanation for it, and I have never had any other experience with a shadow person,

[00:03:34] for which I am grateful.

[00:03:35] I do have lasting effects from it, however.

[00:03:38] Now I experience panic attacks, and firmly believe I had my first one that very night,

[00:03:43] when I broke down after the shadow person disappeared.

[00:03:47] I never had them before, but I firmly believe that thing brought them on me.

[00:03:59] Could you imagine you're just working on some homework at night,

[00:04:02] and you just get this vibe that something's wrong,

[00:04:05] and you look over, and you see this pitch black, headless being standing there?

[00:04:10] I will say one thing that I found odd about the story,

[00:04:13] and you're not going to guess what it is.

[00:04:15] Who the hell names the dog Jace?

[00:04:17] I mean, I don't know.

[00:04:20] I get naming like your boy dad, like a kid, but like...

[00:04:23] Who the hell named the dog dad?

[00:04:25] I don't know, maybe they just like the J names.

[00:04:27] Eh.

[00:04:28] Odd.

[00:04:30] Do you have any thoughts about how the thing had no head?

[00:04:33] Uh, maybe somebody, uh, hit it with one of those big Acme, like Looney Tunes mallets,

[00:04:37] and he kind of like, plunk, you know, went like his head down into his neck.

[00:04:42] Nice.

[00:04:43] I heard that, uh, nah, not really.

[00:04:46] Alright.

[00:04:47] Let's move on.

[00:04:48] This is another story, also from Phantoms and Monsters.

[00:04:51] This one took place in New Zealand.

[00:04:53] Hmm.

[00:04:54] I am working in Teya now for the week.

[00:04:56] It's early Tuesday morning.

[00:04:58] I haven't slept well, and my shoulder still hurts.

[00:05:01] I hear what I think is the door to my room opening.

[00:05:04] I think in my head, what the hell does my workmate want this early?

[00:05:07] I remember feeling annoyed because I thought my workmate was invading my space too early in the morning.

[00:05:13] I also think it's strange it's so dark.

[00:05:16] If he wanted my attention, surely he would turn the lights on or knock first.

[00:05:20] I turn my eyes to the door, but this is all I'm able to do.

[00:05:24] I can't move, speak, or respond in any way.

[00:05:28] It's like there's a heavy weight over my entire body.

[00:05:31] At this point, my heart is beating a little faster than normal.

[00:05:34] I can see a figure open the slider slightly into the room and move from the doorway to beside my bed in the darkness.

[00:05:41] I can only describe it as a pure black figure with a big head, and it was pretty tall as well, with no facial features at all.

[00:05:49] It stands there looking at me for a second before uttering a low noise.

[00:05:54] Ah.

[00:05:55] But not yelling, just a low vocal noise.

[00:05:58] At this point, I have a terrible feeling of doom and defenselessness like something bad will happen that I can't stop.

[00:06:04] I begin struggling against this force holding me down, although paralyzed.

[00:06:08] It takes incredible effort.

[00:06:10] I try to yell, fuck off.

[00:06:12] All I could think of to say at the moment.

[00:06:14] I try to jump out of bed, but I cannot.

[00:06:17] It disappears after a few moments, and I get up and look at my phone.

[00:06:21] It's 5.45am, 15 minutes before my alarm is set to go off.

[00:06:25] After it's gone, I don't feel like I woke up.

[00:06:27] I feel like I was awake the whole time.

[00:06:29] But I definitely felt the weight lift for me, and it was all over.

[00:06:33] Well, that sounds like classic sleep paralysis.

[00:06:36] Yeah, but I've never heard of any other story where the shadow person goes, uh, or makes any kind of noise.

[00:06:44] True.

[00:06:45] Have you heard of any cases where they were being noisy?

[00:06:49] For sleep paralysis?

[00:06:50] Yeah.

[00:06:51] Oh, okay.

[00:06:51] For, um, especially moaning for some reason.

[00:06:54] Like, not really words.

[00:06:56] I'm pretty sure I have heard stories with them speaking before.

[00:06:59] But most of the time, it's just, like, strange noises.

[00:07:02] Kind of, uh, unintelligible gibbering, or, like, you have moans.

[00:07:07] Okay.

[00:07:08] That's the only time I ever heard about the auditory hallucinations with sleep paralysis, though.

[00:07:13] Now, as far as, uh, shadow people?

[00:07:16] I don't know.

[00:07:16] Never heard about them talking before, except for the hat man.

[00:07:18] I've heard stories about it talking before.

[00:07:21] Same.

[00:07:21] I have heard some stories of the hat man saying some pretty heinous things.

[00:07:26] Yes.

[00:07:27] Okay, so can you imagine you're paralyzed, and you wake up, and you see a shadow person, and

[00:07:33] you're just staring at it, and it just goes...

[00:07:39] Yeah, it just screeches at you like a little autismo.

[00:07:43] Also, didn't he say, like, it started off as, like, he heard a knock at the door or the

[00:07:47] door was opening or something?

[00:07:48] Yeah.

[00:07:49] Well, all I gotta say about that is...

[00:07:55] And that leads to the high-pitched screeching.

[00:07:58] Yes.

[00:07:59] That's when it walks in.

[00:08:00] Shadow person.

[00:08:01] He's over there.

[00:08:01] Yeah, who could that be now?

[00:08:03] And it's just...

[00:08:08] Still, that would be so scary, though.

[00:08:10] Like, you know, even if it was the one, like, the high-pitched weird screaming...

[00:08:15] Oh, if something came in...

[00:08:16] Hey, you're laying there.

[00:08:18] You're chilling.

[00:08:18] This freaking shadowy figure walks in and then squeals at you like a freaking six-year-old

[00:08:25] in a Call of Duty lobby.

[00:08:26] I mean...

[00:08:28] That throwed me off.

[00:08:29] Yeah, I'd be scared, but I'd also just be like, what the fuck?

[00:08:32] I feel like the confusion would add to the fear.

[00:08:34] Oh, it probably would.

[00:08:35] It's like, is that just my tinnitus, or is that that thing squealing at me?

[00:08:39] Poor Cale and Lestos.

[00:08:41] Moving on.

[00:08:41] Jumping over to Mysterious Universe, here's another story of a shadow person.

[00:08:47] One night, I stayed up kinda late and decided it was finally time for bed.

[00:08:51] I took my shower, got ready, and turned on my nightly podcast and hopped into bed.

[00:08:57] It better have been entered a rift.

[00:08:59] I'm gonna be pissed if it wasn't.

[00:09:01] I feel like something is watching me.

[00:09:04] I look up towards the window, and I see a large black figure standing there.

[00:09:08] I'd say somewhere between six to six and a half feet tall.

[00:09:11] He was completely black, and I couldn't see his face.

[00:09:14] Just a dark, shadowy figure.

[00:09:16] I had a sudden feeling of fear and utter terror.

[00:09:19] I turned my head away from the window, covered my face, and attempted to forget about it.

[00:09:24] I hardly slept that night.

[00:09:26] The next night, I walked over to my window and checked to see if I could see the figure again.

[00:09:31] I didn't see anything, so I turned off the lights and tried to sleep again.

[00:09:35] Within minutes of me putting my head onto my pillow, I felt like I was being watched again.

[00:09:39] I peeked up over my covers and saw the same figure standing at my glass door and looking at me.

[00:09:45] This time, I stared back at him for a little bit before getting scared and covering my face again.

[00:09:50] He had a pretty fair build, wasn't too big, but also wasn't too skinny.

[00:09:55] Just fair.

[00:09:56] Again, he had no face and was looking at me.

[00:09:59] This kept happening for the next few nights.

[00:10:01] Each time, he appeared closer to me.

[00:10:04] The next, he was at my screen door, then at the foot of my bed, then in the middle of my room, and finally looking over me beside my bed.

[00:10:13] I felt so heavy and fearful.

[00:10:15] I felt as if I was being pushed into my bed.

[00:10:18] I could move and all, but I just couldn't shake the heavy feeling.

[00:10:22] I started to get irritated and yelled out,

[00:10:24] Be gone! I don't want you here!

[00:10:25] I then prayed over and over until I finally fell asleep.

[00:10:29] The next night, he wasn't there.

[00:10:31] I have exactly zero idea what it was,

[00:10:34] and that's probably one of the most strangest things I've seen in this house.

[00:10:38] So there is a story that I haven't really heard,

[00:10:41] where the thing starts out outside,

[00:10:45] and then it gets close to the window,

[00:10:47] and then it gets close to the screen door,

[00:10:48] and then it's inside the room,

[00:10:50] and then it's looking over them.

[00:10:52] I almost feel like if they didn't pay more attention to it,

[00:10:57] maybe it wouldn't have been able to come inside.

[00:11:00] Now, hear me out.

[00:11:01] What if it's just a crackhead covered in axle grease?

[00:11:05] What if that's why it looks like just inky blackness?

[00:11:07] It's because it's literally just a crackhead,

[00:11:09] strung out,

[00:11:11] you've been running through the train yard,

[00:11:13] you know, got all greased up,

[00:11:14] and he's just been, I don't know,

[00:11:16] just peeping on you.

[00:11:17] Just, you know,

[00:11:18] just checking you out.

[00:11:19] Well, wouldn't you be able to make out some facial features?

[00:11:21] I don't know.

[00:11:22] Was that some random meth head?

[00:11:23] Maybe he's wearing one of those sheisty masks,

[00:11:26] like a little hood rat.

[00:11:28] Oh my god.

[00:11:29] We got hood rat shadow people.

[00:11:30] They pair well with the trailer park shadow people.

[00:11:32] Yes.

[00:11:33] Except they just get pissed off and flick cigarette butts at you.

[00:11:36] They don't have red eyes,

[00:11:38] they're just chain smoking.

[00:11:40] The red eyes are just misidentified cigarette butts.

[00:11:43] Oh yes,

[00:11:44] that's not a UFO,

[00:11:45] that is not an unidentified flying object,

[00:11:47] that is a unidentified cigarette.

[00:11:51] Now we'll be going and looking at the book

[00:11:54] Darkness Walks,

[00:11:55] The Shadow People Among Us by Jason Offit.

[00:11:58] So this book is entirely devoted to shadow people

[00:12:03] and includes numerous eyewitness accounts

[00:12:06] and it speaks about

[00:12:08] like even the metaphysics of shadow people.

[00:12:10] It's a good book.

[00:12:11] I recommend it

[00:12:15] So going into that book,

[00:12:18] Anne Williams of Sydney, Australia

[00:12:20] was roused at 3am

[00:12:21] one day in 2005

[00:12:23] by something in her room.

[00:12:25] It was not friendly.

[00:12:27] One early morning,

[00:12:28] I felt so strongly

[00:12:29] that there was a presence sitting next to my left

[00:12:31] as my bed was right in the corner of the wall,

[00:12:34] Anne said.

[00:12:35] I felt as though I was blocked,

[00:12:37] like something was standing over me

[00:12:38] or wanted to scare me.

[00:12:40] She didn't understand what she saw.

[00:12:42] As I opened my eyes to see what the hell it was,

[00:12:45] there stood on my left side of the bed

[00:12:47] a black cloaked hooded figure,

[00:12:49] she said.

[00:12:50] The thing leaned over me,

[00:12:51] its face gray and snowy

[00:12:53] like a TV screen when it's all fuzzy.

[00:12:55] Its eyes were black

[00:12:57] and sunken in the snowy face.

[00:12:59] I screamed

[00:13:00] and instantly I was pinned to the bed.

[00:13:02] The only body part I could move was my neck.

[00:13:05] Everything else was locked to the bed.

[00:13:08] Anne lay on her back

[00:13:09] trying to scream

[00:13:10] as the figure leaned into her.

[00:13:12] I felt that it shoved its arm down my neck

[00:13:14] and was choking me

[00:13:15] as though nothing came out of my mouth.

[00:13:17] She said like no noise,

[00:13:19] I could not even hear myself scream,

[00:13:20] but I was.

[00:13:21] Tears ran down her face,

[00:13:23] soaking her pillow

[00:13:24] as she tried to scream but couldn't.

[00:13:26] I was trying to get up,

[00:13:27] which I could not.

[00:13:28] It felt like it was trying to scare me to death.

[00:13:31] Then the cloaked figure's attack grew worse.

[00:13:34] After a while,

[00:13:35] all these horrible things are happening.

[00:13:37] I got more strength in myself,

[00:13:39] she said.

[00:13:39] The figure decided to scare me more.

[00:13:42] It half went inside me

[00:13:44] and was cold like ice.

[00:13:45] As it went in me,

[00:13:46] I felt so sick.

[00:13:48] That's when Anne got angry.

[00:13:50] I started to get pissed off

[00:13:51] as this piece of shit

[00:13:52] was trying to hurt me,

[00:13:54] she said.

[00:13:54] So I thought,

[00:13:55] that's it,

[00:13:56] I'm going to pray to God.

[00:13:57] She lay there,

[00:13:58] still pinned to the bed,

[00:14:00] choking,

[00:14:00] crying,

[00:14:00] and trying to scream.

[00:14:02] I really felt like I was going to have a heart attack

[00:14:05] as this thing was so powerful.

[00:14:07] I had to strengthen my soul to pray to God

[00:14:09] and ask for it to leave me alone.

[00:14:12] Then she opened her eyes

[00:14:13] to look into the snowy,

[00:14:14] cloaked face of her attacker.

[00:14:16] I said angrily,

[00:14:17] my soul,

[00:14:18] leave me alone,

[00:14:19] whatever you are.

[00:14:20] Leave me alone,

[00:14:20] you are not welcome to be in my body.

[00:14:22] Anne said,

[00:14:23] it's mine,

[00:14:24] you don't belong here.

[00:14:25] Finally,

[00:14:26] the cloaked shadow man let her go.

[00:14:28] I got all up in a sweat

[00:14:29] and I was like I saw a ghost.

[00:14:31] I felt victimized

[00:14:32] and felt no one could help me,

[00:14:34] she said.

[00:14:34] Well,

[00:14:34] I know that God helped me.

[00:14:36] Anne still doesn't understand

[00:14:37] exactly what happened.

[00:14:38] Her mother told her

[00:14:39] it was the spirit of a rapist.

[00:14:41] I don't know what it was,

[00:14:42] but I feel that it was evil

[00:14:43] and wanted to kill me,

[00:14:44] Anne said,

[00:14:45] I wonder why this happened to me.

[00:14:47] It's all a mystery.

[00:14:48] The shadow being returned the next day,

[00:14:50] but Anne said prayer

[00:14:52] and drove the black clipped thing from her.

[00:14:54] I flew out of bed

[00:14:55] and prayed to God to take it away,

[00:14:57] she said.

[00:14:57] I opened my eyes

[00:14:58] and it was gone.

[00:14:59] Thank God for his help.

[00:15:00] But the thing wasn't gone forever.

[00:15:02] A year later,

[00:15:03] Anne was living in another house

[00:15:05] when the shadow person came back.

[00:15:08] Again,

[00:15:08] it was early in the morning,

[00:15:09] she said.

[00:15:10] I was sleeping on my right side

[00:15:12] and in my ear,

[00:15:13] someone whispered in a male voice,

[00:15:15] I'm here.

[00:15:16] I was so tired,

[00:15:18] I just didn't mumble,

[00:15:19] go away,

[00:15:19] I want to sleep.

[00:15:21] I felt the chill

[00:15:22] when it was next to me

[00:15:23] and I felt sick

[00:15:24] when it spoke to me.

[00:15:26] Anne doesn't know

[00:15:26] if her attacker was a demon

[00:15:28] or a ghost,

[00:15:29] but she hasn't been visited again.

[00:15:31] So in this story,

[00:15:32] I think this is the first one

[00:15:33] where I heard

[00:15:34] you could see more of its face

[00:15:37] a little bit

[00:15:38] that looked like white TV static

[00:15:39] and the eyes were just black.

[00:15:41] So I thought that one

[00:15:42] was pretty interesting.

[00:15:43] It sounds more like an incubus

[00:15:45] than a shadow person encounter.

[00:15:46] Yeah, honestly.

[00:15:47] It sounds like something more

[00:15:49] of just trying to force itself

[00:15:50] on someone.

[00:15:51] Yeah.

[00:15:52] That, you know,

[00:15:53] as soon as she started praying,

[00:15:54] it went away.

[00:15:55] Yeah.

[00:15:56] Which,

[00:15:56] I'm of the opinion,

[00:15:58] all this is demonic.

[00:15:59] Like,

[00:15:59] the mom said about

[00:16:01] it's the spirit of a rapist.

[00:16:03] Well,

[00:16:03] no.

[00:16:04] Once people die,

[00:16:05] they are dead.

[00:16:06] They are in the ground.

[00:16:07] But,

[00:16:09] yeah,

[00:16:09] no,

[00:16:10] this is definitely just demonic,

[00:16:11] like incubus

[00:16:12] kind of deal.

[00:16:13] Yeah,

[00:16:14] I would say that this is just

[00:16:15] mostly a demonic encounter

[00:16:17] more than anything,

[00:16:18] especially,

[00:16:19] you know,

[00:16:19] you pray and it just

[00:16:21] immediately leaves.

[00:16:22] Like,

[00:16:25] most

[00:16:26] shadow people encounters

[00:16:27] that you hear of

[00:16:28] when they begin to pray

[00:16:29] or invoke the name of Christ,

[00:16:30] that's when

[00:16:31] they leave.

[00:16:32] Which,

[00:16:33] oddly enough,

[00:16:34] and this kind of ties into

[00:16:35] a different subject entirely,

[00:16:36] but with

[00:16:37] alien abduction stories,

[00:16:39] which are also kind of linked

[00:16:41] to,

[00:16:41] like,

[00:16:41] a sleep paralysis type event,

[00:16:43] many people who have

[00:16:44] invoked the name of Christ

[00:16:45] have said that,

[00:16:47] like,

[00:16:47] that's when the encounter stopped.

[00:16:49] Yeah,

[00:16:49] I've heard stories about that.

[00:16:50] I've also heard

[00:16:51] anytime someone tries to invoke

[00:16:53] a higher power they believe in,

[00:16:55] it doesn't necessarily

[00:16:56] have to be Christ.

[00:16:57] I've heard stories

[00:16:58] where they

[00:16:59] prayed to Buddha

[00:17:00] and even the,

[00:17:01] uh,

[00:17:01] they're being stopped

[00:17:02] and went away.

[00:17:03] So,

[00:17:04] I don't know

[00:17:04] what they are,

[00:17:06] but definitely not good.

[00:17:08] Well,

[00:17:08] there's another thing

[00:17:08] that,

[00:17:09] uh,

[00:17:09] we earlier just

[00:17:10] talked about how

[00:17:12] you haven't heard

[00:17:13] of any of them

[00:17:13] talking before.

[00:17:14] Oh,

[00:17:17] I guess some of them

[00:17:18] do speak occasionally,

[00:17:24] creepy shit.

[00:17:27] to come in,

[00:17:30] uh,

[00:17:35] you see,

[00:17:36] they're gonna whisper

[00:17:36] in your ear

[00:17:36] and just be like,

[00:17:37] you forgot the

[00:17:38] refrigerator door is open.

[00:17:42] They probably see

[00:17:43] your body is free

[00:17:44] real estate.

[00:17:44] That's the problem.

[00:17:45] Yeah,

[00:17:48] dang,

[00:17:49] haven't had one of them

[00:17:49] in a while.

[00:17:50] Ooh,

[00:18:02] moving on to another story.

[00:18:04] When Kathy Moreno

[00:18:05] of O'Fallon,

[00:18:06] Illinois,

[00:18:07] fell asleep

[00:18:08] early one Friday night

[00:18:09] in December of 2007.

[00:18:11] She didn't expect

[00:18:12] to wake up

[00:18:13] and find a monster.

[00:18:14] I woke up

[00:18:15] a little after 3 a.m.

[00:18:16] and I couldn't go back

[00:18:17] to sleep,

[00:18:18] so I watched some TV.

[00:18:19] And then,

[00:18:20] holy shit,

[00:18:20] P. Diddy jumped

[00:18:21] out of the closet.

[00:18:23] With a bottle

[00:18:24] of baby oil.

[00:18:26] He goes,

[00:18:26] where are you going?

[00:18:28] Don't you run away.

[00:18:29] I don't know how he talks.

[00:18:31] I never listen to P. Diddy.

[00:18:32] But I imagine

[00:18:33] he talks like a 70s

[00:18:35] sleazy pimp.

[00:18:39] Anyways,

[00:18:40] continue.

[00:18:41] out of nowhere,

[00:31:22] comes back

[00:31:23] from Phantoms

[00:31:24] and Monsters

[00:31:25] run by the

[00:31:26] legendary

[00:31:27] Lon Strickler.

[00:31:29] I saw him,

[00:31:30] the hat man.

[00:31:32] Once when I

[00:31:33] was around

[00:31:33] five years

[00:31:34] old in 1970,

[00:31:36] I was spending

[00:31:37] the night at

[00:31:37] my grandparents.

[00:31:39] This is the

[00:31:39] first time my

[00:31:40] story is going

[00:31:40] public.

[00:31:42] I'm 53 years

[00:31:43] old.

[00:31:44] I was asleep

[00:31:46] with my grandma

[00:31:47] in her room.

[00:31:48] My grandpa

[00:31:49] was in the next

[00:31:50] room.

[00:31:50] All of a sudden,

[00:31:51] I see a tall

[00:31:52] man wearing a

[00:31:53] cowboy hat like

[00:31:53] on one of the

[00:31:54] westerns.

[00:31:55] It was really

[00:31:56] dark in the

[00:31:57] room, but the

[00:31:58] person was

[00:31:59] darker than

[00:31:59] the night.

[00:32:00] It was a

[00:32:00] tall figure.

[00:32:02] Remember, I

[00:32:02] was around

[00:32:04] five.

[00:32:04] It stood next

[00:32:05] to the bed

[00:32:06] where my

[00:32:07] grandma was

[00:32:07] at.

[00:32:08] I thought it

[00:32:08] was my

[00:32:09] grandpa.

[00:32:10] These are my

[00:32:11] exact words I

[00:32:12] spoke that

[00:32:13] night.

[00:32:13] Grandpa, I

[00:32:14] see you.

[00:32:15] I see your

[00:32:15] hat.

[00:32:16] My grandpa

[00:32:17] wore a cowboy

[00:32:17] hat and he

[00:32:19] was a tall

[00:32:19] man, but

[00:32:20] this man said

[00:32:21] nothing.

[00:32:22] He just

[00:32:22] stood there.

[00:32:23] Then my

[00:32:24] grandma said,

[00:32:24] who are you

[00:32:25] talking to?

[00:32:26] And I said,

[00:32:26] Grandpa, he's

[00:32:27] right there by

[00:32:28] you.

[00:32:29] And she

[00:32:29] said, there's

[00:32:30] no one there.

[00:32:31] And I said,

[00:32:32] yes, there is.

[00:32:34] It's Papa.

[00:32:35] So she reached

[00:32:36] under the bed and

[00:32:37] grabbed her

[00:32:37] flashlight and

[00:32:38] turned it on.

[00:32:39] And it was not

[00:32:40] there anymore.

[00:32:41] She couldn't see

[00:32:42] it.

[00:32:42] As soon as she

[00:32:43] turned off the

[00:32:44] flashlight, there it

[00:32:45] was.

[00:32:45] Now I'm scared and

[00:32:46] I grabbed the

[00:32:47] flashlight and

[00:32:48] pointed at the

[00:32:48] man.

[00:32:49] It was gone.

[00:32:50] My grandma took

[00:32:51] the flashlight away

[00:32:51] from me and said

[00:32:52] to go to sleep.

[00:32:54] And there he

[00:32:55] was again.

[00:32:56] She could not

[00:32:57] see it.

[00:32:57] It then slowly,

[00:32:59] and I mean very

[00:33:01] slowly, started

[00:33:02] moving.

[00:33:03] Not walking, but

[00:33:05] moving without taking

[00:33:06] a step, going

[00:33:08] around the bed to

[00:33:09] my side, which

[00:33:10] was where my head

[00:33:11] was.

[00:33:12] Not my feet.

[00:33:13] The foot of the

[00:33:13] bed was against

[00:33:15] the wall.

[00:33:15] At least 10 or

[00:33:16] 20 minutes have

[00:33:17] passed, but I

[00:33:18] couldn't tell.

[00:33:18] But that's what I

[00:33:19] figured.

[00:33:20] And I put my head

[00:33:20] under the covers.

[00:33:22] I was saying,

[00:33:23] Grandma, turn on

[00:33:24] the light.

[00:33:25] It's coming around

[00:33:25] to my side.

[00:33:27] All I could do was

[00:33:28] put my head under

[00:33:28] the blanket.

[00:33:29] I don't know how

[00:33:30] long I stayed awake

[00:33:31] that night, but I

[00:33:33] did fall asleep.

[00:33:34] And when I woke

[00:33:35] up, it was almost

[00:33:37] daylight.

[00:33:37] Still dark, but

[00:33:39] light enough to see

[00:33:40] the wallpaper on

[00:33:41] the wall.

[00:33:42] I turned to look

[00:33:42] at my grandma.

[00:33:43] She's not in bed.

[00:33:44] She's cooking

[00:33:45] breakfast for my

[00:33:46] grandpa and making

[00:33:47] his lunch.

[00:33:49] I was alone and

[00:33:50] terrified.

[00:33:51] the door to the

[00:33:52] kitchen was closed.

[00:33:54] And then you

[00:33:55] wouldn't believe what

[00:33:56] happened.

[00:33:57] I saw him in one

[00:33:59] with a hoodie on.

[00:34:03] So as far as

[00:34:04] Hat Man story goes,

[00:34:07] I think that one was

[00:34:08] a lot more on the

[00:34:09] mild side.

[00:34:09] It was just kind of

[00:34:11] just like hovering

[00:34:12] around and staring.

[00:34:15] Yeah, just kind of

[00:34:16] playing peekaboo with

[00:34:17] the kid.

[00:34:17] Yeah.

[00:34:18] I mean, I'm sure

[00:34:21] Hat Man is something

[00:34:21] that feeds off fear,

[00:34:22] it probably didn't

[00:34:24] have to do much

[00:34:24] more than that to

[00:35:00] lead paint stare and

[00:35:02] kind of freaks you out

[00:35:03] a little bit.

[00:35:04] Doesn't really walk,

[00:35:06] just kind of floats

[00:35:06] like he's on a

[00:35:07] hoverboard.

[00:35:08] I feel like most of

[00:35:09] the stories are like

[00:35:10] that, where they're

[00:35:11] just kind of like,

[00:35:12] most of them take

[00:35:13] place in people's

[00:35:14] bedrooms or most

[00:35:17] legs.

[00:35:18] They just, yeah,

[00:35:20] they don't have legs

[00:35:21] or they don't really

[00:35:22] have a discern,

[00:35:23] just any kind of

[00:35:24] discernible feature.

[00:35:26] hover around, stare,

[00:35:27] sometimes we'll have

[00:35:29] glowing eyes and

[00:35:30] then, you know, occasionally

[00:35:32] they give

[00:35:32] the beat down on

[00:35:33] somebody's ass. Yeah.

[00:35:35] Every once

[00:35:35] in a night,

[00:35:36] you know, they just,

[00:35:36] you

[00:35:38] just run a fade

[00:35:39] on your ass.

[00:35:40] I don't know.

[00:35:41] This felt like it.

[00:35:43] So they decided to

[00:35:44] go full crash out.

[00:35:46] So I think a very

[00:35:47] interesting phenomena,

[00:36:57] people phenomena.
